Report: Pentagon Declined to Probe Hundreds of Child Porn Purchases

Report: Pentagon Declined to Probe Hundreds of Child Porn Purchases: "The Defense Department investigated only a small percentage out of hundreds of alleged cases of Pentagon employees using government computers to purchase child pornography, according to a Yahoo! News investigation published Friday.

The cases came to light during a 2006 Immigration and Customs Enforcement probe, called Project Flicker, into the use of credit cards and PayPal to buy sexual images of children online. The investigation turned up the names of more than 5,000 individuals who made the porn purchases -- some of whom were civilian and military employees of the Defense Department, including a few with the highest available security clearance."

Paul Hogan vows to fight Australian tax office - Yahoo! News

Paul Hogan vows to fight Australian tax office - Yahoo! News: "Hogan, 70, was served with a departure prohibition order 10 days ago while in Australia to attend his 101-year-old mother's funeral which has prevented him from leaving to return to Los Angeles where he lives with his wife and son.
The Australian Tax Office refused to comment on reports of seeking tax on A$38 million ($34 million) of allegedly undeclared income from Hogan, saying it cannot give details of individual taxpayers.
But the actor went public in the Australian media this week to put forward his side in his five-year row with the tax office, saying he had done nothing wrong and the tax office was on a witch hunt for a high-profile case."

Fellow cops clobbered me after wife called 911 for help vs. thugs, NYPD Officer Larry Jackson claims

Fellow cops clobbered me after wife called 911 for help vs. thugs, NYPD Officer Larry Jackson claims: "An NYPD cop whose wife called 911 for help against a gang of thugs says he was brutally beaten by baton-wielding fellow officers who stormed his Queens home.

Larry Jackson suffered a broken right hand and multiple bruises from kicks and billy-club blows he said he got from the men in blue called to his home when a gunman menaced guests at his daughter's birthday party.

'To get my butt beat like that was unnecessary,' said the six-year veteran assigned to the 110th Precinct. 'We called the police, and this is what happened to me.'"
